The holiday season of 2020 had challenges. Life had been put on hold since March, and any glimmer of holiday cheer was squashed by sombre reports of rising COVID-19 cases throughout the world. This left many businesses with the difficult question; should we send a holiday card, or will our clients perceive the gesture as insensitive to the current times?
We helped the firm deliver a heartfelt digital holiday card that recognized the current circumstances while beckoning to the firm's past playful traditions, without compromising their brand reputation.
One of our clients, Lax O'Sullivan Lisus Gottlieb, has a longstanding annual tradition of orchestrating over-the-top cards that spark the most delightful holiday spirit. Past holiday card campaigns included themed costumes, editorial photography shoots, and witty headlines, so the decision to send a card this year was especially difficult for the firm. We sought to help them with a card design and accompanying message that would allow them to maintain their yearly tradition with their clients, without being tone-deaf to the reality of the pandemic.
Together, we worked with the firm to craft an appropriate headline that acknowledged the tireless efforts of the essential and frontline workers who courageously (and sometimes painfully,) donned personal protective equipment to keep everyone safe, while leaving the audience with a gentle token from the firms
holiday cards passed. Combined with a message of gratitude and an image of costumes hanging on a rack, we helped the firm deliver a heartfelt
