McCarter Grespan Lawyers is a dynamic Kitchener-Waterloo-based business law firm with expertise in corporate real estate and condominium law, corporate commercial law, and business succession and estate planning. With the move to a new and centralized office location, McCarter Grespan wanted to ensure their most public-facing asset—their website—was reflective of their modern workspace. Having worked with Cubicle Fugitive in 2015 on their last website, McCarter Grespan engaged our team to design and develop a new online presence reflective of their modern approach to practicing law.
With an established brand, the Cubicle Fugitive team faced the challenge of creating a new site that was more professional, intuitive, and visually dynamic. While we had an excellent grasp of who the firm was, their practice areas and leadership had evolved since 2015, and we took the time to meet with critical stakeholders to better understand their vision and goals for the future. Through our initial discovery phase, we understood that McCarter Grespan desired a clean, sleek, and sophisticated site; to actualize this desire, the Cubicle Fugitive team began by developing a site architecture and navigation that would provide a simplified approach to the user experience.

Throughout the project, our team placed a specific emphasis on having design and content align. Cubicle Fugitive developed the new positioning message of “Innovative Solutions Meet Classic Service. At McCarter Grespan, we understand that your business is personal.” Our team also worked in concert with internal stakeholders to audit existing content and provided refreshed messaging for the firm’s bios and practice areas.
From a visual standpoint, we incorporated the firm’s brand colours and slash from the McCarter Grespan logo into the design and content, ensuring a cohesive theme across all website elements and social media assets.
With a desire to highlight its intelligent, innovative, pragmatic, and practical approach to practicing law, the firm wanted a website that was extremely clean, minimalist, and easy to navigate. We incorporated lots of white space into the design with clear and concise copy and selective uses of colours and patterns to draw interest and attention. We carefully integrated new lawyer headshots and photography of their new office across the website.
Once the site moved from design to development, the Cubicle Fugitive team created a unique animated banner to help the website maintain a dynamic energy that matched the firm. Our development team also took the time to ensure that the website was responsive and seamlessly transferred between desktop and mobile screens.
The client is thrilled with their new website and continues working with Cubicle Fugitive on all their marketing initiatives.
