Lax O’Sullivan Lisus Gottlieb (LOLG), one of Canada’s premier litigation boutiques, partnered with Cubicle Fugitive to refresh its website and better reflect the firm’s reputation for excellence, expertise, and professionalism. The goal was to create a modern, intuitive digital platform that showcases LOLG’s capabilities, highlights its culture, and provides an improved user experience for clients, prospective hires, and the legal community.

Objectives and Approach

The previous LOLG website no longer matched the firm’s evolving brand or the sophistication of its work. LOLG needed a digital presence that communicated its leadership in high-profile litigation and its collaborative approach. Cubicle Fugitive worked closely with LOLG to:

  • Develop a brand expression that balances professionalism with a bold, minimalistic aesthetic.
  • Redesign the website’s structure to improve navigation and make key information about lawyers, practice areas, and mandates easy to find.
  • Upgrade backend functionality to streamline content updates and enable the LOLG team to manage their digital presence efficiently.

Design and User Experience

The new website features a bold, minimal, mobile-first design that prioritizes clarity and ease of use. A refined colour palette and modern typography reinforce LOLG’s established and forward-thinking brand. The homepage introduces visitors to the firm’s values and expertise with succinct messaging and a dynamic carousel featuring the firm’s lawyers, while interior pages provide direct access to lawyer bios, practice areas, and firm news.

The site includes dedicated modules for Recognitions, Mandates (representative work), and Firm News, making it easy for visitors to explore LOLG’s achievements, recent cases, and thought leadership. The About section features pages on the firm’s History, Community Involvement, Recognitions, and Pro Bono work, giving visitors a clear view of LOLG’s legacy and values.

Special attention was given to the user journey, ensuring prospective clients, recruits, and media can find relevant information quickly. The website is powered by an enterprise-level content management system, allowing the LOLG team to efficiently update biographies, practice areas, news, and other content as the firm grows.

Outcome

The refreshed LOLG website is a true extension of the firm’s brand—modern, bold, and professional. The new platform strengthens LOLG’s digital presence and supports ongoing marketing, recruitment, and client engagement. With improved usability, updated design, and a clear, authoritative voice, LOLG is well-positioned to continue its leadership in the Canadian legal market. I had to read this a few times to understand that this was referring to a dynamic carousel featuring the firm's lawyers. Rephrased for ease of understanding.
